Chunky Monkey's Six Month Checkup

We went to the doctor yesterday for your six month checkup. You sure are a big boy. You now weigh 19lbs 12oz (95th percentile) and are 28.75 inches long (97th percentile). The doctor said you are very symetrical and are just a tall tall baby. She said if you continue growing at your current rate you should be around 28 lbs when you are one year old...yikes!!

You had two shots which you did not enjoy, and I cried with you. Now we have no shots until next March. The good news is that you have the go ahead to start eating table food. That means mashed meat/poultry, veggies, soft bread, and cherrios.

Not much else to report. Your Cantie Michele spent the night here last night. She came to town to surprise her parents at dinner tonight. I think you are enjoying your visit with her. You are going to stay at home with Daddy this afternoon while us girls go out shopping. You guys will have a great time for sure.

Two Years Ago Today

Today is the two year anniversary of what could possibly be the worst event in our countries history. On this day two years ago we lost 3000 people in a horrible terrorist attack in New York and Washington D.C. You will learn all about it in history books when you are in school. This horrible tragedy tore so many families apart and left thousands of children (many who were not yet born) without parents. We will never forget 09/11/01.

Speak Now

Well you have definately found your voice. You love to scream and squeal whenever possible. I think you really like the sounds of your own voice. I think its cute how you have lengthy chats with the ceiling fan. I don't think its so cute when you do it in stores or restaurants. I hope you learn to lower the volume soon or else we won't be able to go out to eat for a while.

You are also working very hard on sitting up on your own. You want to do it so badly, but don't quite have the strength yet. I think it is just a matter of time now. I can't wait until you can sit up so you can enjoy your toys from a whole new perspective. You are so good at exploring and playing. I know I have said it before, but I am truly amazed by you. I just can't get enough of watching the world through your eyes.
