Some Exciting News
My first college friend Renee just found out today that she is expecting. This means her baby is due about two weeks after you. I am so excited for her and Tim. What a great anniversary gift (today is their second anniversary). Yippeee!!! posted by anonymous

Not Much To Report
We told your great-grandparents about your upcoming arrival. They are very excited.
Grandma took me (and daddy) shopping for some new clothes on Saturday. I got tons of great stuff to take with us to Hawaii in September. Also, you Auntie Steph offered to come stay with us and help out after you are born. She's so sweet.
Not much else is happening. I have been feeling quite well, though I am sleeping a lot more. It is funny how quickly the insomnia can lead to extreme exhaustion. The weekends are okay because I can take a nap, but at work it is a whole different story. Hopefully I'll make it through the day without needing a rest. posted by anonymous

The Doctor Appointment Sucked
I am really disappointed in my first doctor appointment. I don't know what it was I expected, but not what I got. I spent 20 minutes with a nurse going over paperwork and then she sent me to the lab. I had to take a one hour glucose test where I had to drink some nasty orange drink wait an hour then have blood drawn. Six tubes of blood total...ouch! The biggest disappointment was learning that our first ultrasound will not be until August 26. That is a whole month away. I will surely go crazy with worry wondering if you are allright by then. Hang in there kiddo. posted by anonymous

Our First Doctor Appointment
In just two short hours I will be at my first doctor appointment. Unfortunately, no ultrasound today. I will get an appointment for one though. Yay!! I will update again when I return with all the details from the nurse.
In other news last night you sucked the life right out of me. After spending weeks with insomnia I couldn't keep my eyes open last night. I did some housework (which I had delayed too long) and it wiped me out. By 9pm I was struggling to stay awake. I wanted to stay up to watch my favorite show at 10pm, but I found myself dozing through it so I went to bed. I crashed hard only to be awoken at 11:30pm by daddy. He had just come in from work and almost spilled soda all over my bedroom carpet. I was too tired to care and went back to sleep. What do you have in store for me tonight?
By the way my toes are itching again today. I think I'll ask the doctor about that. posted by anonymous

Make The Itching Stop
I have no idea if this is pregnancy related, but my toes are so itchy. They have been driving me crazy for the past hour or so. How do I make it stop????? posted by anonymous

We're Into Week Seven
As of yesterday I am officially six weeks pregnant. Week seven is a busy week for baby. Here is what is happening this week.
Only two more days until my first doctor appointment. All they will be doing is creating my medical history (paper work) and taking tons of blood samples (yikes). The exciting part is that at this visit I will set up an appointment for my first ultrasound. I can't wait to finally see you moving around, that will make this whole experience real.
Also happening this week, we are going to tell your great-grandparents about you. They will be so thrilled. I can't wait. posted by anonymous

You Are So Loved
We told Grandma and Grandpa Chapman about you yesterday. They are so excited. Grandma immediately went into shopping mode ready to buy you all sorts of wonderful things. I can tell you now that you will definately be spoiled by your grandparents. We talked about decorating the nursery and we are going to refinish your Great-Great-Grandpa Irving's old bedroom set for you. I am so happy you will get to enjoy the furniture that has been in our family for so many years. posted by anonymous

I Just Realized Something
I found out that I was pregnant almost 8 years to the day (07/15) that I moved out of grandma and grandpas house to start my own life. Its amazing how I can start my own life and learn about you starting your life on the same date. I think July 15 is a lucky date for me.
I am still feeling good which kinda worries me. I sometimes wish I'd have a touch of morning sickness just so I know you are really in there and are growing okay. Today is the first day I really don't feel pregnant. I just feel really bloated with a touch of heartburn and backache. The only tell tale sign is that I still have no desire for chocolate or Diet Coke. I even slept for close to seven hours last night (the longest this week) though I did wake up for an hour from between three and four. Poor daddy woke up too and didn't have much lucky getting back to sleep. I feel bad for him.
At this very moment I am having my first serious "craving" incident. I absolutley must have some sort of cheese and meat (ie cheeseburger) right now!!! I don't have anything remotely close to this here at the office. I am also dealing with a bit of lower back pain accompanied by constant hunger and occasional bouts of indigestion. I am embracing these symptoms (they remind me that you are in there growing healthy and strong), but when I am hungry and there is no food I am unhappy. Grrrrr!!! posted by anonymous

Our First Disagreement
Well little one it seems that we are already at odds. I have a feeling you do not like dairy products, namely cheese. I has pizza for dinner last night and soon after suffered the wrath of lactose intolerance. I'm going to give pizza on more try before I figure out how I am going to survive nine months without my favorite cheese.
Also, I hope that one day soon we'll be able to get a good night sleep. I have been suffering from insomnia followed by waking up super early in the morning. I can't remember the last time I heard my alarm clock go off.
On the way into work this morning I realized that I have had no desire for Diet Coke or chocolate since I have been pregnant. I thought the day would never come. Now we are feasting on fruit and water instead. We'll both come out of this super healthy. posted by anonymous

Today We Start Week Six
Today is the start of week 6 out of 40. Here is what is happening this week. It is a busy week. According to BabyCenter.com:"Major organs, including the kidneys and liver, begin to grow. The neural tube, which connects the brain and spinal cord, will close this week. The embryo's upper and lower limb buds begin to sprout — these will form your baby's arms and legs. The intestines are developing and the appendix is in place."
At this moment I feel as if I am floating on a cloud. I just called the doctors office and they confirmed that I am pregnant (I went to the lab after work yesterday to have the test run). My first appointment is set for July 26, it is just paper work and blood tests. I'll find out when my first exam and ultrasound will be then.
I have also started working on ways to tell Grandma and Grandpa about you. I think I am going to go buy a cute baby frame tonight and instead of a photo insert a note saying "Photo to be delivered in March 2003". I think Grandma will be so happy. She's been going through a rough patch lately and needs some good news in her life. We're going to tell them on Saturday which will be exciting. We have decided to hold off on telling anyone else until Labor Day just to be safe.
As far as symptoms I'm feeling okay. Yesterday I nearly tossed my cookies, but I think it was because I couldn't stomach eating breakfast. I'm finding that I really like eating bread and Greek food. My first craving (which may get satisfied at lunch time today) is Taco Bell, I just want the tacos....mmmm. The only foods I have found an aversion to thus far are olives and cantelope (the smell nearly made me hurl).
I am so excited about what has happened and what is to come. It all seems so surreal to me now. After trying for a year I really had grown discouraged, but now I know how blessed I am. I can't wait until March so I can meet you and show you all the possibilities the world holds for you.
I took another HPT this morning just to confirm and it came up ++++ just as quickly as the one last night. I made an appointment to go to the lab tonight and have a blood test to confirm everything is okay. Hopefully I'll have the results sometime tomorrow. I also told Daddy about you. At first he didn't believe me, but the two lines don't lie. He is very happy that you will be joining our family. Everything is so new and exciting for us right now. I am about to burst with joy. posted by anonymous

Surprise
Well as of right now not ever daddy knows about you. Auntie Stephanie and I went to the store and bought a pregnancy test because I had a hunch something might be up. Sure enough two beautiful pink lines appeared before my eyes. I am still in shock and the reality of this has not yet set in. Tomorrow morning I am going to take another test then call the doctor. I'll post again when I know more information. posted by anonymous
